Dogtoberfest Marzen

B / 3.3
Dogtoberfest Marzen

The origins of Dogtoberfest are shrouded in mystery, but scholars think it has everything to do with an insane German king and a crazed Oompah band. Dogtoberfest is deep mahogany in color with an intriguing caramel finish and brewed with 100% imported German ingredients for a true German flavor.

Plato: 14
Specialty Malts: Vienna, Munich 90, Munich 100, Light Munich
Hops: German Perle, Hersbrucker
Process: 100% imported German ingredients for an authentic flavor

B / 3.3

Appearance – Beautiful dark amber, clear, one finger of lightly orange tinted foamy head with great retention.

Smell – Toasty malt, very bready, followed by a very herbal hop.

Taste – The toasted malt hits big and hangs on throughout. Slight touches of the herbal hops and their bitterness toward the end.

Mouthfeel – Medium bodied, good strong carbonation, refreshing.

Drinkability – Not bad for an Oktoberfest beer, but not amazing either. Probably not something I’d order again.
