Wasatch Polygamy Porter

B- / 3.0
Wasatch Polygamy Porter

This dark, medium bodied ale offers the drink-ability of a much lighter beer. The inviting chocolate and malty flavors fade into a slightly dry, silky smooth finish.

Appearance – Pours a dark mahogany with ruby red highlights when the light shines through. Small amount of dense tan head with good retention.

Smell – Earthy, chocolate, dark malt, and smooth (if something that smell smooth).

Taste – Very earthy, dark, astringent malt up front that tastes almost burnt. Dry and crisp with an extremely faint hop hidden by the astringent malt.

Mouthfeel – Smooth despite the relatively light body.

Drinkability – For a porter this is thin and light. The flavors aren’t bad, but the overall experience isn’t great either. I’m also not a fan of the bottle…something you can’t let your kids see. Anyway, nothing I’ll drink again.
