This is my go-to dip for any kind of dip, especially hummus and tahini. It’s also excellent on sandwiches and wraps.

There are a number of ways to make dip. Tossed into the blender with a little bit of olive oil, the dip gets a rich, cheesy flavor that’s just begging you to eat it all at once. I like to make it at home by letting the olive oil sit a moment in the fridge where it starts to become thick and mellow.

The other trick I do is to place a bag of frozen vegetables in the blender. This way the dip stays nice and frozen for when it’s time to dig in.

We’ve seen in a few videos how to make the dip from scratch. This is my favorite method due to the simplicity and ease. Just place the fresh veggies into a pot on the stove and let them cook for about a minute or two. Then add the chopped tahini along with whatever spices you like. The longer you cook the longer it will take to reach the desired consistency.

Its definitely difficult to get the consistency right, but I think that it has to do with the fact that I have a small kitchen and a small blender. This makes the dip too thick for my liking and has to be added very slowly. If you have a larger kitchen, you can just add the vegetables in batches.

Well, the same recipe, just using different vegetables. One batch using sweet pea, one using zucchini, and one using sweet corn. I think that I always end up adding the salt at the end, because the dip gets too salty. I have never noticed a difference in consistency, although I tend to use too much salt.

You can use any kind of vegetable, sweet or savory, and you can add the rest of the ingredients in the same way, it’s just a matter of adjusting the amount. The only difference is, I like mine more sweet. Maybe it’s because I get impatient and add too much sugar at the end. If you don’t want to use a blender, do it with the potatoes and carrots in batches and then add them all in the same pot.

You can also make it by hand, but I find it more interesting and less messy. You just get some sliced raw veggies, the rest of the ingredients are added, and then it’s ready. I like the fact that you can add some more flavor, because sometimes people add so much that it doesn’t taste like anything.

Yeah you can definitely add more flavor into it. Its kind of like a spicy potato dip with sweet potato seeds.

I find this a lot of fun. It reminds me of our school lunches. Just the idea of adding a little something more is fun. I could imagine people sitting down and saying, “Hey, I want to add some peanut butter to this.” It’s like the way we have been doing it at school and then some kid says, “Hey, I want to add some cheese.” It’s the same thing.
