I just love beer so much. I do not think of beer as art, but it’s a common thread through all of my work. I love the process of writing a beer story or illustration. I’m always amazed by the creativity and the artistry involved. I love beer’s ability to bring so many different elements together, such as how the label is designed, the theme of the beer, the bottle, and of course, the beer itself.
The most difficult thing for our beer illustrators is to get people to open their minds enough to appreciate the design elements. I still prefer the “art” over the “craft” version, but that’s just a preference. But when you’re at a booth at a convention and people aren’t actually tasting the art, it can be tricky. In fact, I’d argue that most art is just a bunch of different things that all do something.

As a result, most of our illustrations are just a bunch of different things that all do something. So we can’t really help but make your brain think you’re drinking a “normal” beer.
The challenge is to do so without offending people who arent interested in the design. The art director is a big fan of the concept, so he’ll often just send us a few versions of the artwork and let us pick the best. Of course, for most of these illustrations, this isnt the case. When we do get an illustration we dont have anyone at the studio to discuss it with.
We’ve got a few. Here’s a bunch of the concepts we sent in. We get a little request about the design, and this is a great way to get feedback without sending to a production designer.
Oh god. We get a LOT of requests for design. We have to answer the questions as honestly as possible and that includes not making a product look good. Then we have to make sure it meets our aesthetic standards.
The beer illustration we did this year was a great example of a design that was completely inappropriate for what we wanted it to be. We wanted it to be about the relationship between the characters on the island, but it became so much more than that. It was about all the characters as a whole, and the island itself, and the relationship between them. The beer illustration we did was basically a painting in a bottle with the characters in it.
Well, that’s what we did.
As far as I can tell, the new Deathloop will be the first game with a beer illustration like that. The reason we chose a beer as the subject is because it is a classic design from an early time in beer. Beer is a very time-honored medium, because it has been doing this for thousands of years. The idea that it might be a good idea to use the same image for everyone was just too much to ignore.
The beer illustration idea was really a matter of pure luck, but it definitely paid off. We started out with a photo from the Art Department’s Flickr and then we were able to find a few bottles of beer online. We got the inspiration for the beer artwork from the ones we saw in the Bottle Shop with a few tweaks to the story and the style.
